Save and find knowledge
Use Socialligator’s knowledge tools to keep useful web pages and notes available in your workspace. A captured page can include its readable text and source. The browser extension also provides a library for your web notes.
Save a page as a knowledge document
- Open the page you want to save in Chrome with the Socialligator extension available.
- Open the extension’s side panel and choose the page capture option for a knowledge document. You can also select text on the page and send that selection to Socialligator as a knowledge document.
- If offered, choose whether to include the page’s readable text. The capture can include the source page.
- [Confirm: where the saved document appears and whether you can edit its title or other details during capture.]
You can save a page without its readable text. The extension’s page capture can also create other kinds of records, such as tasks or project notes; choose a knowledge document when you want to save it as workspace knowledge.
Search workspace knowledge
Use the extension’s palette to search workspace knowledge, along with tasks, contacts, and notes. Open the palette with Alt+K on Windows or Linux, or ⌃⇧K on macOS. [Confirm: how to open workspace knowledge search in the Socialligator web app.]
Use the notes library
The extension’s Library page is for your web notes, which are separate from knowledge documents. It supports importing and exporting notes, including Margin backups. Notes are saved in the browser first. After you connect the extension and agree to sync, they sync with your workspace and your other browsers.
The extension can also search your notes from the palette. To find notes on a particular page, open the side panel’s Page view.
